Melonie Curry
Park Houston - City of Houston
Communications Manager

I have been presented with an outstanding opportunity. The opportunity to continue the legacy of the City of Houston being an active and supportive member of the Texas Parking & Transportation Association. I am honored to submit my board of directors’ nomination letter.

Since 2006, I have witnessed great strides and growth in TPTA. I am confident that I can contribute to maintaining the momentum. I believe that my experience, expertise and exposure will contribute to keeping TPTA as one of the most innovative industry organizations. on a path onwards and upward. My experience in Digital Marketing will help TPTA to gain additional exposure through social media, blogging and website enhancements. I had the fun of managing social media at two previous conferences.

I joined ParkHouston in 2006 and that was the year of my introduction to TPTA. From that time on I have been a regular volunteer and a familiar face at most TPTA events. In addition to my MBA in Marketing and my certification in Digital Marketing from Cornell Online University, I have over sixteen ten years of parking experience. For several years, I designed the TPTA conference guide to ensure that members had an optimal conference experience. I have also served on several conference host committees.

One of the highlights of my professional career has been to receive the Staff Person of Year Award in 2019 from the International Parking and Mobility Institute. I conducted a Shoptalk in 2021 on social listening and currently, I am a monthly blog contributor for IPMI.

I serve on the City of Houston Social Media and Advisory and Research Taskforce and previously served on the board of Women Professionals in Government.

I am a regular member in good standing. I am excited to continue the legacy of TPTA service for the City of Houston

Sincerely,

Melonie Curry, MBA
